Finding Your Voice: Color & Space

Service Description

This class offers students a more advanced study of painting and an in depth understanding of all color media. This course’s focus is on the development of an advanced understanding of color and how light, color and edge combine to visually communicate form, space, surface, texture, and mood. Projects will address the larger themes found in contemporary art, and how composition, color, and media handling combine to determine meaning. Students will be taught to paint using various toned grounds, underpainting, glazing, and scumbling techniques. Students have the option to utilize a range of media including acrylic paint, oil paint, watercolor and more, with a strong focus on skill building and visual communication. All materials are provided & included. Prerequisite: By invitation after completing one full year, or by portfolio approval. * May be repeated based on student skill level and interest. Projects do not repeat and become student driven over time.
